Episode 25: The Sky' s the Limit
Phoenix was walking through Titans' Tower toward the beach at the base. She was dressed in a gie. Raven ran to catch up with her.
"Hey, Phoenix," Raven called to her. She stopped and turned to face her.
"Yes."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"What was WD really like?"
"What you mean?"
"Sometimes he's really playful. Other times he's super serious. I've also seen a couple of times where he seems completely heartless. I mean, which one is real one." Phoenix thought for a moment. They start walking together.
"Hm. Well, they're all kind of him. WD has always been kind of complex. He's all of them, and yet none of them."
"Well what is he normally like?"
"Hm, well that depends."
"Depend on what?"
"Well it kind of depends on the situation."
"What do you mean?"
"When we're training, he's always really serious. That's a consistency."
"So he's a serious person."
"Not exactly. We doesn't have a task that needs his immediate attention, he likes to have fun."
"Well which is he, serious or laid-back?"
"On most subjects, WD doesn't take to one side or the other. Though he doesn't straddle the fence either. He can work on either side and will choose a side based on the full situation."
"Now I'm even more confused."
"He is laid-back and won't initially take charge. But when push comes to shove, he'll take charge and see to it that the job gets done, one way or another."
"So he's responsible."
"Oh yes, very. He's also very smart and a very good strategist."
"I've noticed that. He always had a plan."
"He's very good at what he does, because he plans his attacks thoroughly."
"So if he really did want to kill me, I'd already be dead."
"Oh yeah, even now. It's rare for a demon to escape, if they're on his list."
"Like me?"
"You're a special case. From what I heard, you were on his list. Since you got taken off, you are no longer one of his targets."
"What if I get back on?"
"You'll be dead before the hour is out." That answer was not very comforting.
"Is he really that good?"
"He's not called the White Angel of Death for nothing."
"Wow." She was starting to regret asking. Phoenix noticed and tried to comfort.
"Look, WD loves you. That you can count on."
"You sure?"
"Positive." Raven stopped walking and Phoenix moved to join White Dragon to continue her training. Raven remained standing there digesting this information. The more she knew, the less she understood.
----------
Damion was fuming mad. He held a burnt book in his hands. Some pages were a little singed, while others were gone. Forest and Electro cowered before him. Nightshade and Cyclone stood just outside the door listening.
"What happened?" Damion demanded.
"Electro shot it," Forest blame trying to save himself.
"I shot at White Dragon," Electro protested. "He did something that made my bolt redirect at it. Besides, it's Forest's fault that White Dragon earned one of his powers back." Damion turned Forest even madder now.
"My attack should have killed him."
"Who did you attack?" Damion questioned.
"Raven. I tried to finish off the Titans. She was the only one who wasn't hit by Electro's bolt."
"You fool, none of the Titans are dead."
"That's impossible," Electro protested. "That bolt should've killed them."
"It didn't, and you gave him the opportunity to earn one of his powers." Two white orbs appeared in his hands.
"Please have mercy," Forest pleaded. Damion gave a half-evil,  half-crazy laugh.
"Mercy? I keep hearing this word. Too bad I never learned what it means." Forest and Electro drew back in fear. The orbs began to glow. Forest and Electro's soul were pulled out of their bodies and drawn into the orbs. They returned to normal and crumpled onto the floor dead. He set the two orbs on the octagonal tray with the four other orbs. "Let this be a lesson to you two as well." Nightshade and Cyclone drew back. I will take your souls as well, if you cross me or become no longer useful to me. Now leave me." Nightshade and Cyclone slinked away from the door. Damion went over to the pedestal and set the book on the pedestal. He opened the book to the power returning spell. "At least the incantation is still intact."
------------------
A week later, Cyclone approached Nightshade looking a little concerned.
"We need to strike now," Cyclone told him a little shaky.
"Why?" There was no emotion in his voice.
"The boss is been given me strange looks, like an intent to kill."
"It probably is an intent to kill. You haven't been very useful of late."
"I haven't done anything."
"That's exactly the point."
"But he's giving you the same look." Nightshade was drawn back, but quickly got his bearings back.
"You're lying. Why would he want to kill me? I have been nothing but useful."
"I saw some of the notes he was making on that spell he's been working on. The spell requires eight souls."
"So what?"
"Eight souls with eight elements, and he already has six souls six elements."
"You don't seriously think."
"I do seriously think. He's planning on killing us."
"He can't unless we do something to aid the Titans or the A. D. S. It's in our contract."
"He's going to find excuse to take them."
"Then there's nothing we can do but wait."
"That's no good for me. I'm not going to wait around to die. If I'm going to die, I'm going to take a few of those Titans or A. D. S. down with me."
"So what do you have in mind?"
"I have an idea, but I need some help."
"Alright, let's move."
--------------------------
Cyclone remained floating in the air over one of the skyscrapers. The roof is a little bigger than normal. He wasn't over, but he was above it. His body was dispersed so no one should know where he was. The Titans arrived at the top of the building. An evil grin stretched across his hidden face.
"Where is he?" Cyborg asked. White Dragon sniffed the air and then said,
"They're here."
"You sure?" White Dragon's mouthpiece opened up. He sniffed the air again, and the mouthpiece closed back up.
"Positive, I'd recognize that smell anywhere."
"Well, where is he?" Phoenix looked right at Cyclone and pointed at him.
"He's right there," she said. Everyone turned to look were she was pointing. Many of the Titans look back at her confused. Cyclone started laughing maniacally. He pulled his body back together. He looked like a living tornado.
"What it wants, Cyclone?" White Dragon asked.
"Want?" Cyclone asked. He laughed maniacally again. "I want you, White Dragon, to kill the Teen Titans." He laughed again, but this time it was the laugh of a madman. "And then I want the bird girl here to kill you." He laughed one more time.
"Why should we?" Phoenix protested.
"If you don't, I will kill the hostage." He laughed again. The Titans drew back in fear. Raven was particularly scared.
"He's bluffing," White Dragon said confidently.
"He sounds serious," Garfield said a little shaky.
"I know he's bluffing, because were the only ones up here." Everyone except Phoenix looked at him confused. "No human has been up here for at least four or five hours."
"Very perceptive," he complemented. "That does pose a problem for me. We'll have to correct that oversight."
"What do you mean?" Cyborg asked. This question was answered by Mia being quickly sucked into the ground. All that was left of her was her bow, her quiver, and her hood. A small round shadow appeared at the edge of the building about five or six feet from the Titans. Nightshade and Speedy emerge from the shadow. Speedy was wrapped from her ankle to her mouth in shadow. The shadow she was wrapped in appeared to be apart Nightshade's left arm. Nightshade looked like a living shadow. Speedy struggled, but the shadow wouldn't give an inch.
"Now, do as I say or she dies."
"I don't think so," White Dragon said. He drew the dagger and turned it into the sword.
"Wrong choice," Cyclone said with evil smile. A shadow portal appeared behind Nightshade. He threw Speedy into the portal. She came out of a portal far away.
"No!" White Dragon took off and literally went through Cyclone and Nightshade. Speedy was falling towards the street, and White Dragon was still too far away. He thought to himself, "no, I'm too slow. I can't save her." His vision came up to tell him his fast flying power has been reactivated. "Perfect."
---------------------------
"Well, that's one down," Cyclone gloated.
"You'll pay for that," Cassie threatened. Everyone stood ready to strike. Phoenix had her long bow string drawn back and a yellow energy arrow in place.
"What do I care? That Titan is dead. The dragon has failed." He laughed insanely.
"Guess again, airhead," White Dragon said from behind him. Cyclone's smile immediately turned into a shocked face. He and Nightshade slowly turned around. White Dragon was floating about three or four feet away from them. Speedy was cradled in his arms with her arms around his neck. Cyclone and Nightshade blinked in disbelief. When they blinked, White Dragon vanished. They quickly look left and right before looking back at the Titans. White Dragon was in the center of the Titans. The Titans looked at him shocked most lowering the weapons. Phoenix didn't seem surprised. She just smiled and then turned her attention back to Cyclone and Nightshade. White Dragon set Speedy down. She mainly put on her hood, picked up her bow, and knocked a arrow. "Save it. These guys are mine." She relaxed the string, and everyone except Phoenix lower their weapons.
"No," Damion shouted. All turned to see him standing on the top of the water tower on the building across the street. He is in a black suit with white vertical pinstripes. His jet black hair was slick back. His lavender eyes were glowing.
"Damion," White Dragon said.
"They're mine." A white orb appeared in each hand. Everyone brought their weapons. Half of the Titans faced Cyclone and Nightshade. The others faced Damion. White Dragon faced Damion. Phoenix also aimed her arrow at Damion. There was fear in Cyclone and Nightshade's eyes. The orbs started to glow. Cyclone and Nightshade's souls were ripped from their bodies. They turned back to normal. Cyclone started to fall. Nightshade crumpled and fell over the side.
"Cassie, grab them," White Dragon ordered. Cassie started to move.
"Don't bother." Damion place of orb is left-hand in his right hand. He extended his left hand towards the falling pair. A blast of black energy came out of his hand and obliterated the pair. White Dragon drew the dagger and turned it into the katana. "I see you mastered the dagger of Philose." He turns his attention to Phoenix. "And Phoenix is here as well. It's so nice to see you again." White Dragon prepare for his Tri-con Slash. "Calm yourself, brother. I will send you to Hell, but it will be in a time and place of my choosing." He then vanished.
-------------------
The afternoon of the following day, Phoenix found White Dragon on the roof of Titans' Tower. He was sitting on the edge with his feet hanging off the side. Phoenix floated around him.
"This is an odd sight," she said. "With your flight power back, I figured you'd be flying everywhere."
"I'm just not in the mood," he said a little depressed.
"What's wrong?" She asked concerned.
"Damion doesn't have any more lackeys, so you should be making his move soon, and I'm not ready to face him."
"Would this help?" She pulled out a small piece of paper and handed it to him. "I found this in the cave after we beat Electro and Forest." White Dragon examine the piece of paper. There were strange ruins on it. Why Dragon seem to be able to read it. He waved his hand over the page. A couple of the ruins changed. He read again and smiled.
"This might be just the advantage we need."

The End......or is it?
I know it's been a long time since I've done this. Thanks to the Dragon program, I was finally able to sit down to do this. Enjoy.
